DOGS - Flea and Tick prevention

This is just one of our layers of natural protection but it leaves your pup smelling good, and it works!

½ cup food grade diatomaceous earth

¼ cup neem powder

¼ cup arrowroot powder (substitution would be tapioca starch or non-GMO cornstarch.

30 drops essential oil (see list below)

  1. Add food grade DE, neem powder and arrowroot powder, and essential oils to a mixing bowl and stir until well combined.

  2. Add to a seasoning jar or other jar with a shaker lid, if there is leftover keep in a sealed glass jar and store out of sunlight and heat.

To use:

I like to apply this after a good comb out. Depending on your climate, season, and amount of time your dog spends outdoors this may be 1-2 times per week.

Apply outdoors, if your dog isn’t a wiggly pup you can shake it directly on them staying away from the face and mucous membranes, if they have the wiggles shake into your hand and apply from there. Rake your fingers through the fur and really get into any undercoat. Keep working it in until your pup doesn’t look powdered. If you have a rake comb you can use that to help.

I do like to “Test” the oils with the dog first, all you need to do is open the bottle and observe your dog’s body language. No need to put it to their nose or anywhere within 3 feet of them, trust me they can smell it. If they hate it I wouldn’t use it. I’ll take a neutral or happy response before I use an oil.
