"I was looking for a way for me and my family to get in a little better shape and and was not particularly interested in trying to master any martial arts. Deacon Sal's enthusiasm has been contagious and he has created prayerful, Christ-centered workouts that also teach humane self defense using principles of Ho Kwon Do.  After five months of adding CMF workouts once or twice a week, my kids and I have grown together in orthodox prayer, I have lost 30 pounds, we can all do planks while reading the Gospel,  and we can focused enough to kick and break a board! Recently I found out that I had high cholesterol and plaque build-up in an artery of my heart. My doctor told me it would be possible to reverse this with medicine, diet changes, and exercise. That was some news that excited me. My cardiologist was supportive of me joining Christian Martial Fitness and cleared me to start asap!  

I was not sure how my body would react to Martial Arts and exercise being 51years old and out of shape. But Deacon Sal assured me that he would adapt my training to fit my needs. So I gave it a shot! Here is what has happened in my first month:

September 8: I Joined CMF trial classes.  

  • My beginning weight was 151 lbs.  

  • Cholesterol was 101 mg/dL (MD recommended to be at 70 mg/dL) 

October 8: I completed the free trial (attended 8 CMF classes total) 

  • My weight was 146 lbs

  • My Cholesterol was 61 mg/dL 

Combined with a proper eating regimen and my medicine, I cut my cholesterol by 40 mg/dL and dropped 5 lbs!  

I can see and feel the difference in my confidence, my strength at work, and my energy levels, and my wife noticed I was getting in shape! After the free trial, I was hooked and joined up immediately!  

I can't wait to see my next results and to achieve the next belt level!
